VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision at Tumut Community Preschool is to empower children to respect and acknowledge the unique cultures of Australia’s First Nations peoples. We celebrate with children the connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have to County and thank them each day for the opportunity to live and learn the Land with them.  We will continue to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our curriculum with the vision of building and deepening genuine, respectful relationships with all children and all families of all cultures. We believe that connection to the First Nations community is essential for children to create their sense of belonging and inclusion.  The development of our Reconciliation Action Plan will continue to guide our preschool on our journey towards harmony and provide an environment where all children have the opportunity to respectfully immerse themselves in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. We recognise the cultural rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and are strongly committed to developing a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and learning by continuing to appropriately integrate cultural perspectives within all aspects of our preschool.
