Kindy Patch Camden

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Kindy Patch Camden’s vision for reconciliation is to acknowledge and respect the cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Kindy Patch Camden gives respect and appreciation to First Nations peoples as the Traditional Owners of the Lands across Australia which we share today. We also give thanks for the opportunity to share knowledge and build relationships with First Nations peoples.

Kindy Patch Camden further acknowledges that, in order to succeed with our vision, we need to recognise historical inequalities and inequities and work in connection with all within our sphere of influence to create change.

Kindy Patch Camden acknowledges the important role of educators in respectfully providing children, families and the community with learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures and in respectfully fostering inclusion with the local Dharawal people. We also recognise First Nations achievements, knowledge and spiritual connections to Country.

We will commit to identify and plan for professional learning opportunities for our educators to more fully understand and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and thus continue to promote reconciliation. All educators have been involved in both discussions and critical reflections on our vision for reconciliation and are committed to achieving success.

Our approach is always strengths-based, and based on collaboration, and inclusion of diverse skills and knowledge. We will always use respectful and inclusive language and terminology as an essential component of reconciliation.
