Peakhurst Early Learning Centre acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, educators, and community. Our purpose is to encourage all children to learn about the historical context of Australia and to hear stories and perspectives from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We will continue to provide opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural safety and inclusion for both children and families within the centre. We recognise that with each step of our reconciliation journey, we build stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and equal and equitable opportunities for both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people. We will continue to engage in professional development opportunities and respectfully partner with local Aboriginal Elders. Educators will continue to respectfully share their learnings with children as we embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives into our curriculum and overall practice.
