Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia that embraces unity and respectful relationships between the First Nations Peoples and the wider Australian community. We will contribute to embracing and nurturing a culture that represents equality and equity, historical acceptance of our shared history and removal of negative race relations.
At Ladybugs Daycare & Pre-School, we foster the idea that reconciliation must live in the hearts and actions of all Australians as we move forward in strengthening Australia and embracing and respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.
We commit to taking action for reconciliation rather than treating it as a concept. We believe that children, young people and families should be safe, thriving and strong. Many of our principles and practices are inspired and driven by the lessons and concepts of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples which is respectfully embedded into our learning programs, actions and service operations. Our aim is to pass on our vision and inspire our community of families, staff and children to:
•Recognise the true histories of Australia •Provide a culturally responsive place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all people •Actively listen to the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples •Celebrate and recognise the great strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures •Guide programs, services and partnerships, allowing all to work safely, respectfully and effectively with First Nations Peoples, families and communities.
