VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Hills Adventist College Early Learning Centre, we are on a continuing journey of deepening our understanding of Australia's true history and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We commit to continuing to respectfully educate children, staff and families about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and being, through our philosophy and everyday programs as well as acknowledging days that are of special cultural significance and connecting to the First Nations community.

It is our vision that this journey will be supported through making meaningful connections with the local Dharug community for the benefit of all as we deepen our understanding of reconciliation. Our vision for the future of our service is a shared understanding between the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and our staff, children and families. We continue to create a place where all people feel welcome, safe and valued. We want children and families to leave our service with an understanding of the true history ofe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, of the incredible contributions First Nations peoples have made and continue to make in our society, and to develop a commitment of fairness, justice and unity.
