Only About Children Turramurra Tennyson Avenue

At Oac Turramurra Tennyson Ave, our vision for reconciliation is centred on a belief that all Australians have the right to live in country that is diverse, inclusive and respectful.

We will achieve this by creating positive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians by building and supporting a national culture of equality and equity. This will begin by creating opportunities for connection with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within our campus and our local community. We accept that we can all be better at challenging prejudices and becoming more understanding and knowledgeable about the, histories and cultures, past and present, of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Within our context, our vision will lead us to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our curriculum as we make intentional efforts to become culturally competent. We acknowledge that this will take time and can be achieved through daily and practical experiences that are authentic and not tokenistic, and by taking time to critically reflect on our actions, words and thinking.
