Goodstart Bondi South, it's children, families, communities, educators and professionals believe that it is important for all stakeholders to make a commitment towards reconciliation. It is acknowledged that reconciliation is everyone's business, and for everyone's benefit, and that reconciliation should not rest solely on the shoulders of Aboriginal and Torres strait Islander people.
Educators understand that reconciliation in education and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander content and perspectives should be planned and implemented as a daily teachable moment. Our curriculum across the centre encourages play based learning that embeds holistic approaches to understanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives. This understanding is driven in partnership with the whole class, the centre and wider First Nations community.
It is our commitment to engage in professional development and to seek the expertise of local Elders as we further our understanding and as educators, link the children, families, wider community and the Local First Nation communities together.
