Our vision is that our children, staff and parents will learn that deeply founded knowledge and understanding of the systems and diversity of First Nations Peoples are essential for an equitable and equitable, reconciled Australia. We continue to learn about the true history of Australia. We acknowledge that the place we now call Australia did not commence in 1788, rather, it has 80,000 plus years of the world’s oldest continuing cultures, that of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to continuing to work together with the local community, the Wadawurrung People, to learn about what it means to contextually, ruefully and meaningfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our school. We will become a culturally and historically informed generation of Australians with a commitment to genuine equality and equity across Australian society. Our vision will be achieved by the inclusion of First Nations Studies as CORE curriculum for all students at all levels, through the explicit teaching of the First Nations Studies subject, as well as providing professional development opportunities and team planning across all year levels with all teaching staff.
