At the core of our vision for reconciliation at BSPS is an active commitment for our school community to connect and build ongoing relationships with the local Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung community. We will continue to develop and strengthen:
•Celebrating and respecting Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples cultures and other First Nations cultures, with permission •Encouraging our students, teachers and families to actively listen to and learn about the histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the impacts of European settlement which continue to this day •Encouraging our school community to engage with current inequalities and inequities experienced by First Nations Peoples and the steps and actions we can take together to progress reconciliation •Work with our Reconciliation Action Team and the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to proactively promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices to ensure that reconciliation is at the forefront of everything that we do.
We acknowledge that reconciliation will be an ongoing process in which we strive to have First Nations perspectives respectfully woven into the fabric of our school values and the education we provide for our students.
