Telopea Park School

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Telopea Park School is committed to developing strong partnerships between our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and the school community. Telopea Park School will provide a supportive environment and structures that empower and enable all students to attain personal success in life, acknowledging and respecting the continuing richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, cultures and heritage. We will do this through:

• Supporting and encouraging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families and the wider community to participate in school life, celebrate their achievements and support them to deepen their knowledge and understanding. In turn, we will also support all students and members of our School community to deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures.

• To support reconciliation by developing respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous students, parents/caregivers, teaching and non-teaching staff.

• Actively providing opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives to be represented in every classroom
