VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Brisbane Water Secondary College Woy Woy Campus is committed to work in a respectful way with Australia’s First Nations people and communities and to placing students at the centre of what we do. As a campus we affirm the special place and identities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians by continuing to:  •Actively recognise the diversity and dynamism of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and histories.  •Acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ deep connections with, and custodianship of, the Land since time immemorial.  •Value the contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make to Australian culture and society.  •Honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s resilience and strength.  •Value the opportunity to learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  •Recognise that, in order to increase educational success for all students, there must be  multi-layered action towards reconciliation at a campus, college and learning community level.
