Goodstart Early Learning Mackay Shakespeare Street believes that all children should have the chance to participate in an early learning environment that is equal, equitable and culturally respectful. As a centre, we have a shared vision to improve relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people. The foundation of our curriculum is based on strong relationships with local First Nations community members that help to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are reflected and respectfully embedded in our daily routines. We will continue to support reconciliation through engaging, on a personal and professional level, with building respect for, and understanding about, the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the positive, shared future that we wish to foster for the generations that are coming through our centre. Our educators have a strong commitment to ensuing the best possible outcomes for children through learning plans and programming experiences that link to our Reconciliation Action Plan and through respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout the centre.
