Who We Are: People (Secondary)

overview

This set of activities supports students to engage with the film Who We Are: People. The film features six young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people introducing who they are, their Nations and their experiences of family.

It shows how they make their own way in the world, enjoying success as individuals and contributing to their communities and Australian society.

The film is a part of the Who We Are: Brave New Clan series developed by CAAMA Productions and Reconciliation Australia in partnership with Foxtel. The series follow the lives of the six Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as they share stories about their communities, histories and cultures in contemporary Australia.

During the activities, students will look at how people, community, family, kinship, culture, spirituality, history and contemporary Australian society influence Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Reconciliation Australia developed this curriculum resource in partnership with Cool Australia. The activities target Years 4 to 6, however you can adapt them to suit other year levels.
